The Firriato winery was born in the mid-1980s from the passion and ambition of Salvatore Di Gaetano and his wife Vinzia Novara. From the very first moment, Firriato's production is centered on a fundamental principle: the quest for quality. The perfect combination of passion and quality enabled Firriato to become one of the symbols of Sicily in just a few years, contributing decisively to the well-deserved success of Sicilian wine, now known and appreciated worldwide. Sicily is a land of undisputed winemaking potential and contains an extraordinary variety of climates and soils, a variety that is fully reflected in the production of wine.
Nero d'Avola is one of the most appreciated and well-known Sicilian wines: Firriato produces Harmonium, a Nero d'Avola that, year after year, collects prestigious awards. From the Nerello, an indigenous Sicilian vine, comes the Etna Rosso, which is another bottle of absolute value, capable of giving the owner Di Gaetano great gratification. Firriato also produces other high quality red wines, skilfully and genuinely combining the potential of indigenous grape varieties (Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Frappato) with a balanced use of international ones.
The white wines also deserve particular attention: Catarratto and Grillo are two excellent choices to discover the diverse world of Sicilian wine, without forgetting the interesting Ansonica variety. Firriato wine will allow you to experience all the poetry and tradition of Sicily, a land of inestimable beauty and culture, and to enjoy unique sensations that are also rich in centuries of history.
